Lord Narasimha is the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu . Narasimha Avatar was happened in Kritha yuga ( Satya Yuga ). Lord Vishnu took Narasimha avatar to save his baktha , child Prahaladha and destroy Hiranyakashipu.

Hiranyakashipu who is the father of Prahaladha is furious at the devotion of his son towards Lord Vishnu and wanted to kill his son. But Prahaladha was saved by the Lord every time. Prahaladha explained his father that Lord Vishnu is the Supreme Lord of the Universe and He is all-pervading and omnipresent. Hiranyakashipu who was very angry on Lord Vishnu asked Prahaladha, pointing to a nearby pillar if his Lord Vishnu is in it. Baktha Prahaladha answered 'yes' and said , Lord Vishnu is in the Pillar and also in a small twig. Hearing this, furious Hiranyakashipu smashed the pillar and Lord Vishnu appeared from it in the form of Lord Narasimha and destroyed the demon.
